Tips to save battery
on your laptop
When you are away on business and the
workplace is not fixed, it is extremely important
to have a laptop with a long battery life.
Here are some tips for you
to extend the battery life of your laptop.
Change Power options
Enable Balanced (default setting) or Power saver power plan.
Right click the Battery icon on the taskbar > click Power options>Create a power plan.
*When Power saver or High performance mode is on, the slider will disappear after clicking the Battery icon.
Enable Battery saver mode
When the laptop battery is low, enabling Battery saver mode can squeeze more time from the battery. You could click the Battery icon to enable it.
You may also open PC Manager, click the Settings icon in the top-right corner, select Settings > Battery, enable Battery Protection and choose your desired battery mode.
Choose what closing the lid does
To make your laptop battery last longer,Sleep or Hibernate mode is advised when you close the lid.
Right click the icon on the taskbar > select Power options > choose what closing the lid does, set When I close the lid to Sleep or Hibernate, and click Save changes.
Sleep mode: able to wake up quickly. But requires continuous power supply, or data could be lost after wake up.
Hibernate mode: able to restore the system to the state before the power supply was cut off and allow power off completely. However, system recovery takes longer than Sleep mode and takes up more storage space.
Remove Startup Apps
Open the Run dialog box by pressing "Win+R", type in services.msc and click OK to open the Startup folder. Double-click Windows search, Windows update and Superfetch respectively, and set Startup type to Manual or Disabled.
Adjust the brightness
Reduce the screen brightness appropriately; if your computer has a backlit keyboard, you could also reduce the keyboard lighting or turn the light off.
Reduce connected devices
If your computer is powered solely by its battery, please remove the docking station. Disconnect external devices in a timely manner when you are not using them.
Turn down the volume
Please play videos or audios with Windows Media Player as far as possible. Reduce the volume or use headphones for videos and voice calls.
You could use the tips above to save power usage when your laptop is in battery mode.
