Lost Your Tablet? This Feature Locates Device and Protects Privacy

Conditions for Applying This Function

Make sure to meet the following conditions in order to find your tablet with Find Device.

• Power on the tablet and connect it to the network

• Open Settings on tablet, log in to your HUAWEI ID

• After you log in, enter cloud on your personal homepage, touch Find My Phone

Locate Device Immediately After It Went Missing

1. You can open the official HUAWEI Cloud (cloud.huawei.com) on the browser or enter Find Device App on your phone, then log in with the same HUAWEI ID as that on the lost tablet to enter Find my phone interface.

2. Select the lost device in the list. When the device is located, its position will be indicated on the map with dots. If the device is online, the dot appears green, otherwise it appears grey.

*Reminders:

• If you cannot find the lost tablet in the list, it may be that Find My Phone is not enabled on the lost device. In this case, you can’t use this function to track your device.

• If the device is shown offline, it may be that the device is not powered on or connected to network. Then, it can’t be recovered with this function.

Lock Device Before Finding It

When you locate the device, you can first Lock device by remotely resetting the unlock password and then leave your contact information which will be displayed on the lock screen of your lost tablet.

*Reminder: To let someone who finds your tablet return it, you can add a message or phone number to the lock screen. For example, you can send: Hi, please call ********** if you find my tablet. The information within is very important to me. Thanks!

Track Its Movements When the Device Is Locked

After the device is locked, it will be continually tracked with the Find Device function, which allows you to check its movements over the last 24 hours and know its precise location timely.

*Reminder: The blue dot on the map represents the trajectory, and the blue dot with the lock icon represents the last known location of your device. Tap each blue dot to find out the exact time of your device being located at that place.

Play Sound When the Location Is Nearby

When the location is nearby, click Play sound and the device will play the ringtone at the maximum volume to help you quickly locate your tablet.

*Reminder: The blue dot on the map represents the trajectory, and the blue dot with the lock icon represents the last known location of your device. Tap each blue dot to find out the exact time of your device being located at that place.

Erase the Data if the Device Is Permanently Lost

If it is unlikely to retrieve your lost device, you can remotely erase all data on it by choosing Erase data. However, please be careful with this operation since the data cannot be recovered after deleting.

If you have backed up data to the cloud, the data in the cloud will not be deleted when you perform Erase data.

*Reminders:
• When the device is offine, you can still use functions including Lock device, Erase data, etc. But these functions will become effective only when the device is connected to network.
• If you have found your tablet whenit's ofline and do not need to erase data any more, you can follow the instructions on the screen to countermand this operation. Then data on your tablet will not be erased when it is re-connected to network.
