At HUAWEI, privacy and data protection is our top priority. We are dedicated to acting on this principle, which is why we have developed the Maintenance mode – a tool that prevents any unauthorised access to personal data on your phone or tablet device.
Read in this article the basics of this functions and learn how and when to use it.
The Maintenance mode is a tool used when sending a device for repair that can temporarily lock private data into a safe storage area. No one will have access to personal information on the device until the Maintenance mode is closed.
Q1 What are the benefits of using the Maintenance mode?
It securely locks data: the Maintenance mode encrypts all aspects of private data with security algorithms.
When this mode is enabled, only preinstalled apps are displayed and all user installed apps, such as banking and social media apps, will be hidden.

FAQ:
Q:Do I need to back up my data before or after the Maintenance mode is on?
A:It is recommended that you back up information before you get services for your device. This mode can avoid data leakage, but it cannot prevent unpredictable data loss.
Q: When I activate this mode, do I need to wipe out all of my data?
A: There is no need to wipe out any data. The Maintenance mode will encrypt all of your data, which will be recovered once the mode is deactivated.
