Useful tips for Bluetooth connection

Bluetooth connection makes our lives way easier: it allows us to take calls safely while driving, stream our favourite songs at home or when running outside, share files and much more.
Follow the steps in this article to find out how to do this using different devices.

Get started

Turn on your mobile phone and the Bluetooth device, and make sure they have sufficient battery power. Some devices have smart power management that may turn off Bluetooth if the battery level is too low.

Enable Bluetooth on both devices and keep them within 10 metre distance reach. To enable Bluetooth, you can follow two different ways:

Using your mobile phone, swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, then touch to enable or disable Bluetooth. Touch and then hold to enter the Bluetooth settings screen.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then enable Bluetooth.

When Bluetooth is enabled, your device’s name, received files and already paired devices will be displayed.

Enable a Bluetooth pairing request

If the Bluetooth device keeps disappearing or disconnecting from your device, enable a pairing request. This will send signals to the Bluetooth device and connect with it, instantly bringing your device on the radar.

*Reminder: Please note there may be different pairing modes for different devices.

Pairing your mobile device with earphones and speakers

1. Press and hold the power button (or function button) until the red and blue lights flash alternately (or the white light flashes).

2. Search for the device on your phone or tablet and pair with it.

Note: The information above is relevant for most earphones and speakers models; please note this process may be different depending on device model. If your phone/tablet is already connected to a Bluetooth device, disconnect it first. Also, unpair the earphones or speakers if they are already paired with another device.

Most of earphones and speakers models indicate that they are ready to be paired by a blinking light, as well as a notification sound.

For example, the FreeBuds 3 charging case will display a blue light when ready to be paired.

Pairing your mobile device with wearable devices

1. Download the app that accompanies your wearable.

2. Open the app, then pair with the wearable as prompted.

Pairing your mobile device with a laptop computer

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then enable Bluetooth, search the signal with your computer and connect it to your mobile phone.

Quick connection

When carrying out a pairing request, the signal can be detected and connected within 60 seconds.

If you still cannot pair your devices, try restarting them and enabling the pairing request once again.
